Parent and Carer forum


Since February 2005 there has been a Parent and Carer Forum at Henbury Secondary School. This is run by parents and meets four times a year. The purpose of the Forum is to allow parents and carers to meet informally with the school and voice their opinions on matters affecting the education and welfare of students at the school generally. This can be useful for parents in the transition from Primary to Secondary school when contact with the school can become less regular. It has been particularly successful in influencing some of the decisions which the school has made and improving parent/school communication.

The forum is continually looking at new ways to improve the communication between school and home.

Some of the areas the Forum has influenced are:-

Construction of the website
Better communication of forthcoming school trips
Availability of payment plans for major school trips enabling parents to pay over a number of months
Feedback on school uniform
Improved communication of Extra curricular activities
Improved communication of curriculum and homework information

Parents from all year groups are welcome.
